Our Mission
Rainbow Hill Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to making queer recovery accessible, affirming, and sustainable for LGBTQ+ individuals seeking mental health and addiction treatment. Founded by members of the queer community for the queer community, our mission is rooted in the belief that every person deserves a safe, inclusive, and affirming space to heal.
Through scholarships, grants, and community partnerships, we remove financial barriers that often prevent queer and trans people from accessing life‑saving treatment and sober living options. Our work goes beyond funding—we foster connection, advocacy, and empowerment so that queer individuals can thrive in recovery and in life.
As a queer charity, we champion the unique needs of LGBTQ+ people in recovery, ensuring they are met with compassion, cultural competency, and dignity. Since our founding, Rainbow Hill Foundation has helped countless individuals find hope, stability, and community support on their journey to lasting wellness.

Rainbow Hill Foundation was born out of a deep belief that everyone in the LGBTQ+ community deserves access to affirming, life saving care no matter their financial circumstances.
Our founders, Joey Bachrach and Andrew Fox, had already built a strong reputation in Los Angeles as the co founders of Rainbow Hill Recovery and Rainbow Hill Sob
Rainbow Hill Foundation was born out of a deep belief that everyone in the LGBTQ+ community deserves access to affirming, life saving care no matter their financial circumstances.
Our founders, Joey Bachrach and Andrew Fox, had already built a strong reputation in Los Angeles as the co founders of Rainbow Hill Recovery and Rainbow Hill Sober Living, two programs dedicated exclusively to supporting queer and trans individuals on their mental health and recovery journeys. Over the years, they witnessed a heartbreaking reality: many people who desperately needed affirming treatment and safe housing simply could not afford it.
Since Rainbow Hill’s inception, Joey and Andrew personally provided over 30 full and partial scholarships out of their own pockets. These scholarships helped people access treatment, housing, and community when they had nowhere else to turn. But it quickly became clear the need was far greater than what they could sustain alone.
In response, Rainbow Hill Foundation was launched in 2025 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to expand this mission. By creating a formal nonprofit, the Foundation could partner with donors, allies, and community organizations to raise dedicated funds for scholarships. These funds ensure that cost is never the reason someone is denied affirming care or a safe sober place to live.
Our mission is simple: to break down financial barriers and make recovery and mental health support accessible for every member of the LGBTQ+ community who seeks it.
Today, the Rainbow Hill Foundation stands as a bridge between compassion and action, transforming generosity into direct, tangible support for those who need it most. With the continued support of our community, we aim to grow our scholarship program, expand our reach, and keep the promise that no queer person is ever left behind in their journey toward healing and wholeness.
